Doesn't get any better than this guy! I have recently purchased a condo with a broken garage door opener. It was missing some brackets. I called them, and Emil came out promptly the next morning. What Arvin weather does to a garage door
We could not find station normals for Arvin, so we quote no Arvin temperature or rainfall figure. Wikipedia classes the climate as semi-arid. For a sense of valley heat, Bakersfield's NOAA normals, as Wikipedia cites them, put the average July high at 98.3 degrees, but that is a neighbor's number, not an Arvin measurement.
Arvin has a notable wind record. In the Great Bakersfield Dust Storm of December 19 to 21, 1977, a reported peak of 192 mph was recorded here, and a news summary says the town went dark at midday. Wikipedia also says the July 21, 1952 Kern County earthquake nearly destroyed Arvin, though the sources give different magnitudes. Past PG&E shutoff lists named Arvin for forecast dry wind. We did not verify seasonal wind averages. As general advice, dust and grit in the tracks and a power outage are the common causes of a door that sticks.
