Great company to use for garage door work. Came out promptly, over a weekend when I could not get others to respond. Efficient work, very knowledgeable, very friendly. I would not hesitate to contact them first the next time I need service.Courtney Β· Google review
Incredible honest work. Emil took care of all the repairs needed in order for my garage door to work again. I know I need a new garage door but I can't afford it right now this company was nice enough to fix it instead of hounding me for more money to get a new door. Emil was so nice that he even provided me a price. I was so happy he said I could call him when I had the money and he would honor me the price. amazing company to reach out to.Jasmine Β· Google review

Older tracts, mobile homes and newer builder communities
Jurupa Valley became its own city in 2011 and covers nine communities, including Rubidoux, Pedley, Mira Loma, Glen Avon and Sunnyslope. According to the Census Bureau's 2020-2024 American Community Survey, the median home was built in 1979, about 80 percent of housing units are single-family detached homes, about 70 percent of occupied homes are owner-occupied and about 6 percent are mobile homes.
Newer builder communities sit alongside the older tracts. Century Communities' own site calls Cobalt, near Rancho Jurupa Park, a private gated community of 97 single-family homes, and other new communities in the city show HOA fees in listings. Wikipedia names four golf-course neighborhoods, though we could not confirm whether any is gated. Check your association's rules before you change a gate.
Whether the gate guards a half-acre lot, a mobile-home pad or a gated entry, we look at the hinges, posts and track first and then test the operator and safety sensors.

Why gates in Jurupa Valley stop working
Some of these have a quick check you can try. If they do not solve it, call us.
| What you notice | Likely cause | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Sliding gate jumps or scrapes on its track | Worn wheels, a dirty or bent track or a loose guide roller | Clean and straighten the track, replace wheels and rollers |
| Gate opens by itself or will not stay closed | A stuck input, a loop or sensor fault, or a loose latch | Trace the input, repair the sensor, realign the latch |
| Keypad or intercom is dead | Water in the unit, a wiring fault or a failed unit | Test the wiring, dry out or replace the keypad or intercom |
| Swing gate will not latch | The gate has dropped or the strike has moved | Realign the gate and the latch |
| Operator is slow or noisy | Dry hinges or bearings, a worn gear or arm, or a weak battery | Lubricate, replace the worn part, test the battery |
| Gate opens one way only | A limit setting, an obstruction or a failed board input | Reset the limits, clear the path, test the board |
Never stand in the path of an automatic gate while you test it.

What Jurupa Valley's weather does to a gate
Wikipedia's climate table for Jurupa Valley, which does not name a weather station, shows mean daily highs near 95 degrees in August, a record high of 115 and about 16 inches of rain a year, mostly from December to March. Summer heat wears on batteries and plastic parts, and a few winter storms can fill electrical boxes with water.
Wind has caused long outages here. NBC Los Angeles reported in January 2025 that businesses on Mission Boulevard near Pedley had been without power for more than a week and that one resident lost power for eight days, because Southern California Edison de-energizes lines in strong wind. The city page on flooding also notes urban street flooding in heavy rain. A gate with a weak battery or a keypad box that holds water will fail first.
Check the backup battery before wind season, keep the manual release easy to reach and look inside control boxes after heavy rain.
- Test the backup battery before wind season
- Check keypads and control boxes after heavy rain
- Clean sensor lenses of dust and cobwebs

Permits, HOAs and emergency access in Jurupa Valley
City permits. Jurupa Valley's Building and Safety is at City Hall, 8930 Limonite Avenue, main phone (951) 332-6464, inspections (951) 332-0790, with online permits and inspection requests linked from jurupavalley.org. The city page we read does not mention gates or gate operators, so we could not confirm whether a gate or its wiring needs a permit. Call the city before a new gate or new electrical work.
Fire service and hazard zones. Riverside County Fire serves the city. The city says the State Fire Marshal issued new fire hazard severity zone maps for Riverside County in March 2025, and some northern and hillside neighborhoods fall in mapped zones, so check the county map for your address before building or replacing a gate.
Emergency access. Gates can affect how fire and police reach a property. Ask the local fire department about key switch or Knox box requirements before you install or change a locked entry.
HOAs. If your neighborhood has an HOA with an architectural review board, ask before you change the design or color of a gate. We can write a scope of work for the review.
Safety standard. Automatic gate operators are covered by the UL 325 safety standard, which calls for entrapment protection such as photo eyes or safety edges. We test those devices before the gate goes back into service.

Jurupa Valley gate repair: questions we hear
Is there gate repair near me in Jurupa Valley?
Yes. Emil Garage Doors repairs swing and sliding driveway gates in Jurupa Valley (ZIP codes 92509 and 91752) and the neighborhoods next door. Call (213) 340-4232, tell us your street or neighborhood, the gate type and what it does, and we book the soonest visit. See gate repair near me.
Is there electric gate repair near me in Jurupa Valley?
Yes. Electric gate repair near me in Jurupa Valley means a technician who repairs the operator, control board, sensors, remotes and backup battery as well as the gate itself. Call (213) 340-4232 and we book the soonest visit. See electric gate repair.
What is the difference between gate repair and electric gate repair in Jurupa Valley?
Gate repair means the gate itself: hinges, posts, latches, wheels, tracks and frames. Electric gate repair means the parts that move it: the operator, control board, sensors, remotes, keypads and battery. Most service calls need both checked, so we start with the gate and then test the electronics. See gate repair.
Why does my electric gate hum but not open?
A humming operator with a gate that will not move usually means the gate is jammed or a part in the operator has failed, such as a capacitor or gear. Stop using it and call us before the motor burns out.
How much does gate repair cost in Jurupa Valley?
The price depends on what failed, the size and weight of the gate and the parts. We quote after we see the gate or photos, and before work starts.
My gate does not work during a power outage. What can I do?
Most operators have a manual release, and many can use a backup battery. Use the release as the manufacturer directs and call us. We test the battery and the control board, because a flat battery or a board that lost its settings after an outage is common.
Should electric gates be serviced?
Yes. A yearly check of the battery, sensors, hinges or track, and operator keeps a gate from failing at a bad time.
Can you repair a gate operator from any brand?
We repair most residential operators. Tell us the brand and model, or send a photo of the unit. If parts are no longer made we explain your options.
Which ZIP codes do you serve in Jurupa Valley?
Jurupa Valley uses ZIP codes 92509 and 91752. ZIP 91752 is the Mira Loma mailing ZIP and is shared with Eastvale, so some 91752 addresses are outside the city. Call us with your address if you are not sure we reach you.
What happens to my electric gate in a long wind outage?
NBC Los Angeles reported outages of a week or more in Jurupa Valley in January 2025 after Southern California Edison cut lines in strong wind. A backup battery covers a short outage, and the manual release lets you open the gate by hand during a longer one. We test both.
Does my newer community need HOA approval for gate work?
Planned and gated communities usually have architectural review, though we did not find a Jurupa Valley rule that applies to every association. Repairs are often simple, but a new gate or operator may need your HOA's approval first, so ask your association.
Can a handyman fix a gate?
A handyman can handle a loose latch or a dead remote battery. A failed operator, a control board or a gate that has dropped off its hinges needs a technician who can test the controls and the safety devices.
Do you repair garage doors in Jurupa Valley too?
Yes. See garage door repair in Jurupa Valley for springs, cables, openers and new doors, and garage door repair near me. When you ask for both we can look at the gate and the garage door at the same address.
