Newer subdivisions in four architectural districts
According to the Census Bureau's 2024 one-year estimate, the median home in Rocklin was built in 2000, the newest housing stock of the four cities we serve in this part of the valley. About 67 percent of households own their home and about 69 percent of housing units are detached houses. Springs are rated for a set number of open-and-close cycles, and doors on homes from the late 1990s and 2000s that are opened several times a day are now reaching the end of that rating.
Wikipedia says Rocklin has four architectural districts, called University, Granite, College and Quarry, each with its own design guidelines for development projects. We could not verify whether those guidelines cover a garage door replacement. We also could not verify any named homeowners association, but many newer subdivisions have one, so check your association's door rules before you order. Wikipedia lists the median household income at $120,916 for 2023.
Wide, heavy doors on newer homes need springs sized to their weight. Tell us your street and whether the door is a single, a double or a three-car, and we book the soonest visit. We weigh and balance each door before choosing springs.

What customers say
Real reviews from our Google listing, copied as the customers wrote them.
Emil responded to my request for service promptly. He scheduled service for the next day and showed up on time. He was friendly and polite. He Immediately identified the problems and fixed them effectively and efficiently. He showed resourcefulness in coming up with a used part for an old door opener control and in coming up with a practical solution for stabilizing the door connection to the opener. Price for the work was very fair. Great company !! Thank you!!Christina Β· Google review
"Our garage door broke this morning, which was less than ideal. We were certain that it would cost a fortune to get it repaired on a Sunday, assuming it could even happen, but we knew we had to try. I called several companies and only two returned my call. One said that while they could send someone out, it would cost considerably more than if we could wait until Monday. While I appreciated the honesty, again, I wanted it fixed today. The other was Emil Garage Doors. When I had called they said they would call back. I did get a call back from Emil, less than an hour later. Anyway, on to the service. He let me know that it would cost the same to come today or tomorrow, it didn't matter. WOW and WOW again! He said that he could head here in about an hour. Additionally, when I asked him the cost of the various things it could be, what he quoted me were prices that were what the other place wanted to charge me after the service call fee and the hiked up hourly rate for the Sunday call! Upon arrival, he looked at the door, told us a few things that he noticed, and in no way did he ever try to "up-sell" us something we didn't need. He told us our opener was what they use, and top of the line. He replaced the gear drive (maybe that's the name:)) and upgraded our rollers (that was a suggestion, but, one we totally understood and he in no way said we "needed" to). I think he was in and out in 45 minutes at most and our garage door is quieter than before by a TON (thank you rollers) and, more importantly, it works and nobody had to miss work on Monday to make it happen. Thank you so much...I can't recommend your company enough. "Pamela Β· Google review
Emil is delightful, knowledgeable, professional, and capable. He promised to make the process easy and he did. From our first contact Thursday mid-day through completion of the project Saturday at Noon, everything was 100% perfect, and we are extremely happy. We are amazed when we look outside and see our beautiful new door, so soon after searching on google. Emil and his company deserve 100 stars but we are limited to only 5Dawn Β· Google review
It went very well, with the job being completed in three days. We waited few months for the supply chain to kick in ( Covid related delays ) and finally deliver the products. It was so worth the wait. Great installers, Emil and his team are professional and friendly, too, and patient in answering questions.Rachel Β· Google review

What Rocklin weather does to a garage door
Wikipedia's climate box, citing the Western Regional Climate Center's Rocklin station, puts the average July high at 96.5 degrees, August at 95.0, June at 89.0 and January at 53.7. The record high is 118 degrees in August and the record low is 14. Parts of Rocklin sit in High fire hazard zones under the state's 2025 map. City pages, which we could read only in search summaries, say the city received notice from the State Fire Marshal on February 10, 2025 and the council adopted an ordinance designating the updated zones on June 10, 2025. The September 2022 heat wave set records across the Sacramento region, including 116 degrees in Sacramento on September 6, according to Active NorCal, though we found no Rocklin reading. We found no verified Rocklin outage or wind record. Heat is hard on lubricant, seals and opener parts.
Before summer, wipe the tracks, oil the rollers and hinges, test the safety reverse and press the test button on the battery backup.

Battery backup, permits and design rules in Rocklin
Battery backup. California Health and Safety Code section 19892 says residential garage door openers sold or installed in the state need a battery backup, and a replacement garage door cannot be connected to an older residential opener that lacks one. See opener installation.
HOAs and style rules. If you live in a planned community or a historic overlay, check style and color rules before you choose a new door. See new garage doors for styles.
City permits. Rocklin is its own city, so its rules come from the City of Rocklin, not Placer County. The Building Division is on the first floor of City Hall, 3970 Rocklin Road, and a search summary of the city's pages lists (916) 625-5120. The city website would not open for us, so confirm the number. Those summaries say nearly all construction, alterations and most repairs need a permit unless exempt under the California Building Code, and they tell residents to call the Building Division for project-specific answers. We found no statement on garage doors or openers, so we could not confirm whether a door or opener replacement needs a permit. Ask at rocklin.ca.gov.
Fire hazard zones. The State Fire Marshal's recommended 2025 map lists Rocklin with 1,421 acres of moderate and 1,623 acres of high fire hazard and none listed as very high. Ask the city which zone your street is in.

Is there garage door repair near me in Rocklin?
Yes. Emil Garage Doors repairs garage doors in Rocklin (ZIP 95677 and 95765) and the neighborhoods next door. Call (213) 340-4232, tell us your street or neighborhood and what the door does, and we book the soonest visit. See garage door repair near me.
What is the average price to repair a garage door in Rocklin?
Typical prices: a 12-point safety inspection is $89, a torsion spring pair for a standard two-car door is $250 to $450 (heavy-duty springs $350 to $900), a cable pair is $175 to $350, and a belt-drive opener installed with battery backup is $550 to $900. The final price is confirmed after we see the door.
What is the most common garage door repair in Rocklin?
Broken torsion springs are among the most common garage door repairs, because springs wear out after a set number of open-and-close cycles. Cables, rollers, safety sensors and off-track doors follow. See garage door spring repair.
How much is a service call for a garage door?
Our 12-point safety inspection is $89. It covers the springs, cables, rollers, tracks, sensors and opener, and we explain what we find before any repair starts.
Is it cheaper to repair or replace a garage door?
A repair is usually cheaper when the door itself is sound and only a spring, cable, roller or sensor failed. Replacement makes sense when panels are bent or rotted, the door is very old or the opening needs a different size. We tell you which one fits before we start.
Which ZIP codes do you serve in Rocklin?
Rocklin homes use ZIP codes 95677 and 95765. We also serve nearby Roseville, Lincoln, Loomis and Granite Bay, so call us if you are not sure we reach your address.
Does a garage door replacement in Rocklin need a permit?
We could not confirm a garage-door-specific permit rule for Rocklin. Summaries of the city's pages say most alterations and repairs need a permit unless exempt, but we found no statement on garage doors. Call the Rocklin Building Division to ask about your job.
Are Rocklin's architectural districts a factor in replacing a garage door?
We could not verify this. Wikipedia says the city has four architectural districts with design guidelines for development projects, and we found nothing on garage doors. If your home is in a planned subdivision, ask your association and the city before you order a new door.
What is the most common problem with garage doors?
Broken springs and worn cables are among the most common, along with misaligned sensors and worn rollers. Springs and cables are under high tension, so we recommend a trained technician handle them.
Does California require a battery backup on a garage door opener?
Yes. California Health and Safety Code section 19892 says residential openers sold or installed in the state need a battery backup, and a replacement garage door cannot be connected to an older residential opener that lacks one.
Do you also repair gates in Rocklin?
Yes. See gate repair and electric gate repair.
